Donald Trump is going back on his word and tricking his own supporters, a columnist argued Saturday. Washington Post columnist Dana Milbank appeared on MSNBC over the weekend, after Trump's own biographer was on to talk about what he sees as the president elect's "aching thirst to monetize the presidency." After a question on whether the MAGA coalition will be able to hold it together until Trump takes office, Milbank walked through the last things Trump has walked back, including starting to downplay China tariff talk. I don't think any of us should be shocked to think Donald Trump didn't keep his word," he said.
