Heavy rains, hail storm lash out Karimnagar, Warangal
Deccan ChronicleWARANGAL: Because of the low pressure that is formed at an altitude of 0.9 km above sea level from north Telangana to south Konkan and its surrounding area through Rayalaseema, Telangana and Vidarbha, heavy to moderate rains accompanied by gusty winds and hail storms occurred at several places on Friday night across the erstwhile Karimnagar and Warangal districts. In the Karimnagar district, heavy rains with hail storms occurred in Ramadagu, Gangadhara, Bhimaram, Manakondur and Choppadandi mandals, causing huge losses to the farmers. In the erstwhile Warangal district, heavy rains battered Mahadevpur mandal of Jayashankar Bhupalpally causing huge losses to the chilli farmers. Meanwhile, the Meteorological Department issued an orange alert to Rajanna Sircilla, Jagtial, Karimnagar, Jayashankar Bhupalpally, Mulugu, Warangal and Jangaon districts and predicted that there would be the possibility of heavy to moderate rains along with gusty winds with 30 to 40 kmph speed, hail storms, thunderbolts and lightning in the respective districts for the next two days.
