Judge Cannon rejects Trump advisor Stephen Miller's request to intervene in docs case
Raw StoryJudge Aileen Cannon has reportedly denied Donald Trump advisor Stephen Miller's request to argue against a gag order being considered in the former president's criminal Espionage Act case. Recently, Special Counsel Jack Smith, the prosecutor in that case and another federal case in Washington, D.C., has been fighting for a gag order stemming from Trump's false claims about the FBI raiding his Mar-a-Lago golf resort. The ink had only just dried on Cannon's rejection of a bid by Republican state attorneys general to intervene against Smith's request for a gag order on Trump in the Mar-a-Lago classified documents case when Miller gave it a shot. "JUST IN: Judge Aileen Cannon won't allow Stephen Miller's to fill as friend of court opposing Trump gag order requested by special counsel," Gerstein wrote on Sunday.
