Hackers launch new attack on Sony
Hackers claim to have launched a new cyber attack on Japanese electronics giant Sony. The group LulzSec says it broke into servers that run Sony Pictures Entertainment websites and accessed the personal information of more than 1 million customers. In a statement the hacking group said it used a "very simple SQL injection" to take advantage of "one of the most primitive and common vulnerabilities". The US federal trade commission could choose to review circumstances leading to this latest attack if Sony Pictures Entertainment failed to use proper procedures for protecting the data of its customers.
