Ministry responds to The Hindu report; to release OBC fellowship funds soon

The Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment will soon release overdue funds for National Fellowship for Other Backward Classes research scholars. Research scholars under the NFOBC have faced delays in disbursal of their fellowship funds by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment. The scheme is designed to provide a total number of 1,000 Junior Research Fellowships per year to undertake advanced studies and research leading to M.Phil. These are awarded to do those who have qualified in the National Eligibility Test - Junior Research Fellowship of UGC for Humanities/Social Sciences, and for the UGC-Council of Scientific and Industrial Research NET-JRE.
