Coronavirus Lockdown: In UP, Liquor Is Not Smuggled But Being Sold At A Premium

ABP News

Lucknow: Liquor smuggling may not be rampant during the lockdown, but branded liquor is available at a premium rate in Uttar Pradesh. Since the lockdown began on March 22 following the Janata Curfew, only a few people have been arrested for liquor smuggling. Two persons were arrested for working as carriers in a liquor smuggling racket on April 1 in the Para locality in Lucknow. "They remained in the shop for more than half an hour and took away bottles of liquor and also the cash kept in a drawer," said Avadesh Jaiswal, the shop owner.
