‘My stories emerge from my travels,’ says director Santhakumar
The HinduDirector Santhakumar is back after almost a decade and this time, with a fast plot starring Arya, Indhuja Ravichandran and Mahima Nambiar in lead roles. Though there are three songs, they are in relevance to the plot and will not stand out.” He adds, “Though it’s a movie for the family audience, I doubt if children will connect with it. There’s much tension that builds up through the plot.” “Arya plays a family man who does odd jobs to make a living. And even Mahima can be seen in a different role.” There’s a reason why it took the man eight years to start work on his second film. I feel Magamuni has come out better than Mounaguru.” Santhakumar, who grew up in Tiruppuvanam near Madurai, says that his formative years of living in a large joint family shaped the director in him.
