Giants mock draft reaction: Can NY afford to pass on a QB in the first round?

Congratulations, New York Giants fans. Brugler’s assumption must be that the Giants will have found a starter in free agency or via trade, otherwise bypassing a QB in the first round would be tough for this regime to do. They also didn’t draft one of the remaining first-round QBs or target a later-round prospect, thus keeping a streak alive: The Giants haven’t drafted a QB since picking Jones in 2019. As Brugler wrote in a November Big Board, Hunter is the “best draft-eligible player in the country,” and he didn’t anticipate that changing in the months leading up to the draft. Hunter and Milroe would be a fun way to start the draft for the Giants, especially given that Daboll overlapped with Hurts at Alabama and is familiar with Milroe’s skill set.
