58 days since training camp opened in Oxnard, 135 days until Super Bowl 53 in Atlanta, and just two days until the Week 3 game in Seattle at 3:25. 2007 – In the 2006 wildcard game, the Cowboys would fail on a chip-shot field goal attempt from the two-yard line with 1:19 to play when Tony Romo would mishandle the snap and try to run for the end zone. 2012 – Week 2 of Russell Wilson’s rookie season saw the Cowboys have a horrible day on special teams and a lousy offensive performance as they dropped a 27-7 game to Seattle in a game best remembered for the hit Golden Tate put on Sean Lee as Wilson scrambled. The stakes for this one most likely won’t be nearly as high as the 2014 affair, but as I have said a few times, if the Cowboys win this game — and they really need to — this could certainly spur both teams to another phone call about the future of Earl Thomas.
