The social network has become one of the leading alternatives to X, formerly known as Twitter, as some users choose to move away from that site in the wake of Elon Musk’s takeover. It said that the update came as Bluesky achieved more than three million users in its invite-only beta. “We made Bluesky so users can easily discover interesting content from a vibrant network of communities,” said Jay Graber, chief executive of Bluesky. He said he wished to build a new “decentralized social network protocol” that would free users from the control of centralised platforms such as Twitter.
