Zero to hero won’t be easy | Power Play by Anand Mishra
The HinduPublished : Feb 21, 2025 19:41 IST - 5 MINS READ Dear readers, One man’s poison is another man’s medicine, or so the old adage goes. The sentiment best captures the Congress party’s curious raptures after the 2025 Delhi Assembly election where, for the third consecutive time, it won zero seats, but loudly celebrated the fall of the AAP. Privately, many Congress leaders insist that the AAP’s loss in Delhi will mark the beginning of the Grand Old Party’s resurgence—not just in the national capital in 2030 but even in Punjab in 2027, where crucial elections are scheduled. This prompted leaders like National Conference’s Omar Abdullah and Shiv Sena ’s Sanjay Raut to voice their frustration at the infighting between INDIA bloc partners, which they believed handed the BJP a victory. But a section within the party sees AAP’s loss in Delhi—despite the backing from INDIA bloc allies like Trinamool Congress and the Samajwadi Party —as an opportunity.
