
80 startups shortlisted for BioAsia
The HinduEighty startups, from among more than 700 that applied, have been shortlisted by a panel of experts from industries and academia, to showcase their products and solutions at the two-day BioAsia 2025 that gets under way in Hyderabad on February 25. BIRAC, Government of India, has partnered with BioAsia for the start-up stage, further contributing to the event’s stature as a catalyst for fostering innovation and entrepreneurial growth in Life Sciences and healthcare sectors, the organisers said in a release on Wednesday. The shortlisted startups are from diverse sub-sectors, from medical technology shaping drug discovery platforms to medical device offering new solutions for cancer screening, nasal septum, limb movements, There will also be biotechnology startups that are making strides in areas such as small molecule nanoparticles and novel drug candidates, the organisers said. In another BioAsia related announcement on Wednesday, Trade and Investment Queensland, the dedicated global business agency of the Australian State of Queensland, said it will be sending a delegation of more than 15 leaders from top research institutions, biotech firms and healthcare organisations to the event. The focus of the delegation led by Alan Rowan, Director, University of Queensland, would be to build strategic partnerships in biotechnology manufacturing, clinical research, AI-driven healthcare and advanced vaccine development.
