The writ petition was filed by a Noida resident Monicca Agarwal, who complained that her daily commute time increased due to the road blockade. The Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha on November 29 had passed the "Farm Laws Repeal Bill 2021" to repeal the three contentious farm laws enacted in 2020, against which various farm organizations were carrying out widespread protests for the past year.
