Assam govt to bring privately-run Madrasas under regulation
India TodayAfter the decision to close down all state-run Madrasas in Assam, the State government is now planning to bring the privately run Madrassas under state regulation. 'No intention of closing private Madrasas in Assam' Assam's Education Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma on Saturday informed that the state government is bringing a regulation to run the privately-run Madrsas in the state. 610 Madrasas to be closed in Assam The minister also said that the state government will issue a notification to close down the state-run Madrasas in November. 'Will convert state-run Madrasas into schools' Himanta Biswa Sarma informed that the state-run Madrasas which will be shut will be turned into general schools. "We will disband the Madrasa Board and will convert all the state-run Madrasas into the general schools,” Himanta Biswa Sarma said.
