Income Tax Rule Change: Tripple Tax Benefits on NPS; Know How it Works, Who Can Claim

Finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman announced that state government employees will now be able to claim tax benefit of 14 per cent on the National Pension System made by their employer from financial year 2022-23. At present, only the central government employees are allowed to claim tax benefit of 14 per cent for the employer’s contribution to their NPS accounts. NPS Tax Benefits: State Government Employees Must Know 1) You can claim tax benefits on your contribution and employer’s contribution towards National Pension System under various sections of Income Tax Act, 1961. Now, both the central government and state government employees will be able to claim tax benefit of 14 per cent on the NPS contributed by their employers.
