A video has gone viral showing a former corporator rebuking a sweeper employed at a government hospital in Mumbai after he was found administering an echocardiogram to a woman patient. During her inspection, she was shocked to see a cleaning staffer performing the ECG on a woman. Siddiqui asked Mukesh, to which he responded, saying, "I am Mukesh and I am a sweeper here." The incident has sparked questions over the move to assign medical responsibilities to a cleaning staffer, safety and risk of patients with regard to non-medical people involved in medical responsibilities and whether such people can do the work of a doctor or physician after a few weeks of training.
