Agnipath scheme, paper leaks: BJP report lists 10 reasons for UP poll debacle
India TodayDissatisfaction of party workers towards the government, anger towards the Agnipath scheme, the Rajput community's displeasure are some of the reasons cited by Uttar Pradesh BJP chief Bhupendra Chaudhary in a report on the party's Lok Sabha poll debacle in the state. The 15-page report, drafted on the basis of feedback from 40,000 BJP workers across the 80 seats in Uttar Pradesh, was discussed by the BJP high command in Delhi. The report said that the BJP's vote share decreased by at least 8 per cent in all six regions of the state - Western UP, Braj, Kanpur-Bundelkhand, Awadh, Gorakhpur and Kashi region. The report also noted that a decrease in the Dalit vote share of Mayawati's Bahujan Samaj Party was behind the Congress's improved performance.
