ABCThe votes have been cast, but the counting continues for results in the Wollongong, Wollondilly, Kiama, Shellharbour, and Shoalhaven local government elections. Key points: Mayoral contests remain tight across Wollongong, Wollondilly, Shellharbour, and Shoalhaven In most of the local government areas more than half of the vote is left to count The official results won't officially be declared until December 23 New South Wales Electoral Commission staff made an early start on counting on Saturday night and will resume the task on Monday morning. The makeup of the council looks unchanged with Labor holding six seats, the Liberals three, two Greens, and Lord Mayor Gordon Bradbery winning a spot for his group. The contest for Lord Mayor is very tight with current holder Cr Bradbery suffering a -5.6 per cent swing against him, holding 29.5 per cent of the vote, and ALP candidate Tania Brown picking up a +2.2 per cent swing with 29.6 per cent of the count so far. Shoalhaven Shoalhaven Council's four member wards are set to include three Green and three Labor councillors, while the Shoalhaven Independents Group is expected to win two seats in each ward.
