Zoom says working with Indian government over app security, end-to-end encryption for video meetings
India TodayThe video conferencing app Zoom is still smarting from the Indian government's rap based on one too many privacy concerns that have gone haywire globally. The Home Ministry cautioned Zoom users over placing their important data with the video conferencing app, in addition to issuing guidelines on how safely video meetings can be held on the platform. Zoom's chief information officer, Harry Moseley told CNBC-TV18 that the company is discussing the "specific security issues" that forced the government to issue the advisory. Zoom also responded to the government's advisory with a statement that reads - "A large number of global institutions ranging from the world’s largest financial services companies and telecommunications providers, to non-governmental organisations and government agencies, have done exhaustive security reviews of our user, network and data centre layers and continue to use Zoom for most or all of their unified communications needs."
