Bhima Koregaon violence: Pune sessions court to hear bail applications of three activists on 26 October

Pune: The Pune Sessions Court will pronounce the verdict on bail applications of Vernon Gonsalves, Arun Ferreira and Sudha Bharadwaj, three of the five activists arrested on 28 August in the Bhima Koregaon violence case, on 26 October. Earlier on Wednesday, the Supreme Court declined to hold an urgent hearing of a review petition filed by historian Romila Thapar against its verdict that refused a Special Investigation Team led probe into house arrests of the five activists in the case. The five activists, namely poet Vara Vara Rao, lawyer Bharadwaj, activists Ferreira, Gonsalves and Gautam Navlakha, have been under house arrest since 29 August for their alleged involvement in the violence which took place on 1 January.
