Deccan ChronicleHyderabad: Prof. Shakila Thangaratinam, an expert in women’s health, suggested that research must drive real-world impact, ensuring that every woman receives quality healthcare, irrespective of location. The event, hosted by the Fernandez Hospital Education and Research Foundation in collaboration with the University of Liverpool, brought together policymakers, researchers and clinicians to discuss maternal and child health, and discussed how evidence-based policies can improve healthcare outcomes. Dr Indie Kaur, director of midwifery at the Fernandez Foundation, stressed the need for midwife-led care models to ensure safe and respectful maternity care. Discussions centred on funding, policy integration and collaborative research to improve healthcare access for women across India.
