Indo-Canadian’s startup is disrupting legal industry using artificial intelligence

Hindustan Times

The legal industry may be heading for significant change brought about by technology and an Indo-Canadian entrepreneur could play a role in harnessing artificial intelligence to speed up that process. Mona Datt has a background in computer engineering and got the idea that led to founding of Loom Analytics when her lawyer husband asked her if tedious legal tasks could be eased. Loom’s premise is: “By sorting and classifying case law for you, we're making the process of case law research smarter, faster, and more robust. Using a combination of legal analysis and machine learning, Loom provides hard numbers on case law: win/loss rates, judge ruling histories, litigation trends over time, and much more.” “As an industry, it’s at a weird stage.
