UNSC to vote on resolution on Nord Stream sabotage investigation
FirstpostNew York: The UN Security Council on Monday will vote on a Russian-Chinese draft resolution on an international investigation into the sabotage of the Nord Stream 1 and Nord Stream 2 pipelines, Russian news agency TASS reported. Russia prepared the first version of the Nord Stream resolution at the end of February but did not immediately bring it to a vote, instead inviting Security Council members to discuss the document. On February 8, US investigative journalist Seymour Hersh published an article, said, citing sources, that US Navy divers had planted explosive devices under the Nord Stream 1 and 2 gas pipelines under the cover of the BALTOPS exercise in June 2022, and Norwegians activated the bombs three months later, TASS reported. White House National Security Council Spokesperson Adrienne Watson said in a comment to TASS that Hersh’s account was “utterly false and complete fiction.” Read all the Latest News, Trending News, Cricket News, Bollywood News, India News and Entertainment News here.
