Chandrababu Naidu calls for cleansing of revenue department, easy use of services
India TodayIn a decisive move to streamline public services and tackle corruption, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu emphasised the need to digitise all Revenue Department services and asked for a cleansing of the department. Addressing the plight of citizens, Chandrababu Naidu highlighted that of the 1,74,720 public appeals received, 67,928 were related to the Revenue Department, including issues with revenue records, land encroachments, and assigned lands. Regretting instances where people lost valuable land due to corrupt revenue staff, the Chief Minister assured stringent action against those altering records illegally. Revenue Minister Anagani Satya Prasad added that removing former chief ministers' photos from field marks-a process costing Rs 12 crore statewide-was underway.
