BPSC examination row: Retest held for select candidates at 22 centres in Patna amid tight security

Amid the indefinite hunger strike of Jan Suraaj Party leader Prashant Kishor over the Bihar Public Service Commission Combined Competitive Examination controversy, BPSC on Saturday conducted the re-examination peacefully at 22 centres in Patna. The re-examination for the 70th Bihar Public Service Commission Combined Competitive Examination was held for the Bapu Exam Centre where the irregularities were reported on December 13 when the preliminary exam was conducted across the State at 912 centres. BPSC row: As protests continue, some candidates oppose re-exam for all as ‘gross injustice’ While speaking to The Hindu, BPSC Examination Controller Rajesh Kumar Singh said: “In comparison to the last exam, we have an additional 743 candidates and the exam was conducted peacefully at all 22 centres in Patna district. Now, there is no need to go for re-examination.” Patna District Magistrate Chandrashekhar Singh and Patna Senior Superintendent of Police Avkash Kumar were continuously inspecting various examination centres along with senior officers during the exam period.
