Speaker reprimands T. Velmurugan over his angry gestures in the Assembly

Speaker M. Appavu reprimanded Panruti MLA T. Velmurugan in the Assembly on Thursday, after the latter made some angry gestures approaching the treasury benches in the House, in the presence of Chief Minister M.K. Mr. Stalin termed Mr. Velmurugan’s actions “intermeddling” and “unacceptable”. Mr Stalin and Mr Appavu maintained Mr. Velmurugan’s actions were “unacceptable”. Speaker M. Appavu, who replaced Mr. Pitchandi in the Chair, reprimanded Mr. Velmurugan over his “threatening gesture” in the House and held they were “not civil” and “unacceptable”.
