Ex-Air Force chief's response to Rahul Gandhi's remark on 'One Rank, One Pension'

India Today

Former Indian Air Force chief Air Chief Marshal RKS Bhadauria has warned against efforts to create divisions between officers and jawans regarding the 'One Rank One Pension' issue. Speaking on Wednesday at a meeting of the Air Force Association, a veterans' organisation of which he is the head, RKS Bhadauria expressed concern about recent attempts to portray officers as receiving more significant benefits under OROP, potentially taking on a political hue. In his address to the gathering in New Delhi, which consisted mainly of veterans from the Indian Air Force, Bhadauria urged them to steer clear of politics or protests concerning military matters. In the video, Rahul Gandhi alleged that officers were receiving greater financial benefits from the OROP scheme compared to the jawans, who constitute the majority of the armed forces and were supposedly receiving a lower amount.
