Tasman Bridge: 50th anniversary of official opening

Fifty years ago today, Hobart's Tasman Bridge was officially opened. Plans for a bridge to link Hobart's eastern and western shores across the River Derwent date back to 1832, but it was not until 1943 the first bridge was completed.
