Ex-Maharashtra Minister Anil Deshmukh's lawyer, Sub-Inspector Abhishek Tiwari sent to 2-day police remand
India TV NewsFormer Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh's lawyer Anand Daga and Sub-Inspector Abhishek Tiwari, who were arrested in relation to the money laundering case against Deshmukh, have been sent to 2-day police remand. The development comes after CBI had sought 7-day police custody of Deshmukh's lawyer Anand Daga and Sub-Inspector Abhishek Tiwari. Earlier in the day, ex-Maharashtra minister Anil Deshmukh moved the Bombay High Court seeking to quash the Enforcement Directorate's summons issued to him in connection with a money laundering case registered against him, and that the probe into the case be handed over to an SIT of ED officers outside Mumbai. The ED's case is that while serving as the state home minister, Deshmukh allegedly misused his position and through dismissed police officer Sachin Waze collected Rs 4.70 crore from various bars and restaurants in Mumbai.
