Delhi Police files chargesheet in Jamia violence case, names Sharjeel Imam as instigator

The Delhi Police has filed a chargesheet in the December 15 violence that took place in Jamia Milia Islamia. The police have named JNU student Sharjeel Imam in the chargesheet as an "instigator". Protestors had torched four public buses and two police vehicles as they clashed with police in New Friends' Colony near Jamia Millia Islamia during the demonstration against the CAA on December 15, leaving nearly 60 people including students, cops and fire fighters injured. Deputy Commissioner of Police Chinmoy Biswal had said groups of people, who were coming from the Jamia side, gathered near New Friends' Colony and blocked the road.
