Kolkata woman killed, body dismembered by brother-in-law for rejecting advances

Kolkata Police on Saturday arrested the brother-in-law of a 35-40-year-old woman, whose dismembered body was recovered from a garbage pile in Kolkata on Friday, on charges of her murder. According to the police, who solved the case within 24 hours, the accused, Atiur Laskar, killed the woman, identified as Khadeja Bibi, after she rejected his advances. The woman, who worked as a domestic help in the Tollygunge area of South Kolkata, used to commute to work daily with her brother-in-law, who also worked in Tollygunge. Police took Laskar to the crime scene to reconstruct the events, where they discovered the remaining body parts.
