\'Abdulla\' star attraction in Hyderabad park

Deccan Chronicle

Hyderabad: The lone cheetah at Hyderabad's Nehru Zoological Park, the biggest zoo in the country, has been drawing throngs of visitors two days after Prime Minister Narendra Modi released Namibian cheetahs in a Madhya Pradesh national park. Visitors to the city seem to have become intrigued about the 12-year-old cheetah "Abdulla" and hurried to the zoo to have a dekko after the Namibian cheetahs stole the national spotlight and received a media blitzkrieg. "Abdulla" is as among two pairs of African lions and cheetahs that were gifted by Saudi Prince Bandar Bin Saud Bin Mohammed Al Saud. According to Sama Krishna Reddy, an animal keeper at this zoo who has been looking after "Abdulla" for the past three years, the cheetah has become a loner after Hiba died in 2020 during the lockdown.
