Mrs director Arati Kadav on backlash over missing credits: Glad it was called out

Zee5’s latest release, Mrs, starring Sanya Malhotra, is earning praise for its bold take on patriarchy in Indian society. However, when the film’s trailer dropped last month, the makers faced backlash for not acknowledging that it is an adaptation of Jeo Baby’s acclaimed 2021 Malayalam film, The Great Indian Kitchen. Director Arati Kadav, in an exclusive chat with India Today Digital, said she is glad people called out the missing credits. This should happen across all platforms," Arati told us as she expressed her joy over her film becoming a small step in bringing about change and giving credit where it's due.
