Jets predictions at NFL midseason: No Aaron Rodgers return in 2023; 8-win finish?
New York TimesFLORHAM PARK, N.J. — This feels like the tipping point of the New York Jets’ season, fittingly at the halfway mark. So now they’re here, as they were last year, with an elite defense, a bad offense and questions about whether Robert Saleh can pull it all together for an actual run to the playoffs — and, if all goes well, maybe do it with Aaron Rodgers back at the helm for some of it. One thing to keep in mind for those who want to say the Jets refuse to give up on Wilson: They told us how they felt about him when they benched him twice last year — including for Chris Streveler — and then openly pursued other quarterbacks this offseason, eventually adding Rodgers, his replacement. It would not be a surprise for him to eventually start some games at left or right guard this season, considering the Jets’ bad luck with injuries on the offensive line.
