Police investigating after two men allegedly lured to locations via dating app and assaulted

ACT Policing is investigating what it believes were two targeted, homophobic attacks on men via a dating app in Canberra. Attackers allegedly shouted homophobic slurs ACT Policing said another person was attacked on July 20, in circumstances they described as almost "exactly the same". "We would encourage anyone who has information about these incidents in Denman Prospect and Red Hill, or any other similar incidents where people may have been targeted due to their sexual orientation, to come forward," ACT Policing said. "Police would especially like to speak to anyone who lives in the area of Ada Norris Avenue, Denman Prospect or Investigator and Discovery streets, Red Hill who may have witnessed the incidents, or who may have CCTV footage that captured the incidents." Anyone with information about the alleged attacks is urged to contact Crime Stoppers, quoting reference number 7800123 regarding the assault in Denman Prospect, or reference number 7803814 regarding the assault in Red Hill.
