Jannik Sinner banned for 3 months on doping charges weeks after Australian Open win

Australian Open winner Jannik Sinner has been banned over doping charges with immediate effect. Sinner, who had initially escaped ban after testing positive for banned drugs, had a case registered against him by WADA at the Court of Arbitration for Sport. "Mr. Sinner will serve his period of ineligibility from 9 February 2025 to 11:59 pm on 4 May 2025," WADA said in a statement, which will make him eligible to return before the French Open. Jannik Sinner also reacted to the development and said that he has always accepted that he was responsible for the actions of his team and that he had accepted WADA's decision to ban him for 3 months.
