Case against Mumbai man for hiding first marriage, cheating second wife

A young man from Navi Mumbai in Maharashtra has been booked for cheating and harassment following a complaint by his second wife, whom he married without divulging the details of his first wedlock. Chowdhary had introduced himself to the woman as an Army official, who had also worked in the past with the Research and Analysis Wing, India's external intelligence agency. According to the complaint by the woman, who is employed in the pharmacy field, Chowdhary took Rs 3 lakh from her and mortgaged her jewellery worth Rs 4 lakh. Chowdhary has been charged under provisions of the Indian Penal Code for subjecting his wife to cruelty, hiding an earlier marriage, cheating, and personating a public servant.
