Odisha CM Majhi Sets March 31 Deadline to Fill Govt Vacancies

Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has directed senior officials to accelerate recruitment processes and ensure all vacant government posts in Odisha are filled by March 31. The directive came during a high-level meeting at Lok Seva Bhawan on Wednesday, attended by the Nijukti Aayog chairperson and other senior officials.Emphasizing transparency and fairness, the Chief Minister highlighted the priority of filling positions reserved for Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes to promote equitable opportunities. Officials have been instructed to streamline hiring and address procedural delays to meet the March deadline.To address the state’s backlog of 1,10,557 vacant posts, the government has set an ambitious target of filling 1,50,000 positions over five years, with 65,000 vacancies to be addressed within the next two years. A special recruitment drive will also focus on SC and ST department vacancies to ensure adequate representation.To improve accessibility for candidates in remote areas, new Odisha Public Service Commission examination centers will be established in Jeypore and Koraput districts.The initiative is expected to enhance administrative efficiency and create significant employment opportunities, aligning with Odisha’s broader development agenda.
