A House Oversight Committee spokesperson denied the investigation was tapering off, saying, “The impeachment inquiry is ongoing and impeachment is 100% still on the table.” Comer's reported efforts to step away do not mean he's admitting to missteps during his handling of the Biden probe, according to the report. "Comer grew defensive and took a swipe at CNN, echoing complaints sources say he has made privately to colleagues about the media coverage," the report states.
