Governor takes part in festivities at Raja Rajeshwari temple
Deccan ChronicleKARIMNAGAR: Telangana Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan visited the famous Sri Raja Rajeshwara Swamy temple in Vemulawada town of Rajanna Sircilla district on Saturday. After receiving a grand welcome, with purnakumbam, from the temple priests, she offered special prayers to the presiding deities, following which the executive officer of the temple, D. Krishna Prasad, presented silk clothes, a memento and prasadam to the special visitor, as per the temple’s tradition. Following the seven days, the women visit their native place and celebrate the last two days there, holding the Saddula Bathukamma once again, on the ninth day. The governor’s visit on Saturday comes on the heels of a request by BJP state chief Bandi Sanjay Kumar and Rajanna Sircilla district BJP chief Pratapa Ramakrishna to Soundararajan to take part in the festivities.
