Samsung launches 108MP camera sensors for smartphones

Are you bored of smartphones with 48MP camera systems already? Samsung back in May introduced the 64-megapixel Samsung ISOCELL Bright GW1 along with 48Mp ISOCELL Bright GM2 that is a part of the company's 0.8?m-pixel image sensor lineup. Now, nearly four months later, the company has expanded its 0.8µm image sensor lineup to include a 108 megapixel ISOCELL Bright HMX, which the Korean electronics giant says is the first mobile image sensor in the industry to go beyond 100 million pixels and offers 'a resolution equivalent to that of a high-end DSLR camera'. Samsung says that its newly launched 108 megapixel ISOCELL Bright HMX mobile image sensor can absorb more light in low-lit settings than smaller sensors and its pixel-merging Tetracell technology allows the sensor to imitate big-pixel sensors, producing brighter 27MP images. The upcoming Redmi 64 camera phone will be powered by the 64-megapixel Samsung ISOCELL Bright GW1 mobile image sensor.
