After 24 years of false leads, appeals and a relentless campaign, the family of Irma and Gregor Palasics finally have one crucial answer

At a press conference in 2019, Liz Mikita was frank about what she hoped to one day do on behalf of her mother, Irma Palasics, who was murdered in 1999. "It's the perfect opportunity to give it a go here in the ACT because, let's face it, if it works for our case and it brings the murderers forward, well then it could be used in the other unsolved cases we have in the ACT," Mr Mikita said. He said the Federal Bureau of Investigation had assisted ACT police with "advancements in technology". And while he said the assistance of the public had been helpful, "this investigation has been the result of some really technical police investigative techniques". "I'd urge that person to come forward before ACT police come knocking on his door," Detective Superintendent Moller said.
