AI's Impact on Engineering Education: A Boon or Bane?

The emergence of generative AI and LLM tools like ChatGPT and similar products will have a significant impact on engineering education in India. While there are concerns that AI could spell doom for education, it may also help the students and the faculty in the teaching-learning process. The use of AI tools for academic paper writing can lead to greater dubious content, but this has been an existing challenge in an area where unethical players abound. Overall, I am not greatly alarmed that AI will spell doom for education in India.
