Aston Villa make third offer to sign Middlesbrough’s Morgan Rogers

New York Times

Aston Villa have made an improved third bid to sign Middlesbrough forward Morgan Rogers worth in the region of £15million, including add-ons. Rogers — who joined Championship side Middlesbrough six months ago — is understood to be excited by the opportunity of joining Villa, who are currently fourth in the Premier League standings. The attacking midfielder featured in Middlesbrough’s FA Cup third-round loss to Villa earlier this month, and starred in the Championship side’s run to the League Cup semi-finals. Rogers, who has primarily been deployed in an attacking midfield role by the Championship side this campaign, has represented England’s youth teams up to under-20 level.
