Ms Wood said returning to that level at the end of September would bring "severe" economic consequences. In the ACOSS survey of Coronavirus Supplement recipients, 84 per cent of respondents said they would struggle to pay the cost of essentials if the extra payment ended. "If the payments go back to a level that I can't afford to do that anymore … that's going to mean cutting back on necessities like food and electricity," she said.
