Google rolls out October security update for Android 10, fixes zero day vulnerability
India TodayGoogle has started rolling out October security patch to Android smartphones including all Pixel smartphones. As far as Google's Pixel smartphones are concerned, the Mountain View based tech company said that the October security update fixes an issue on old Pixel smartphones, which include Pixel, Pixel XL, Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL smartphones, that enabled a local malicious app to execute arbitrary code within a privileged process. The security update for Pixel smartphones also includes security patches and functional patches that affected Bluetooth and mobile data components in Google's premium budget smartphones. The Pixel security patch also includes fixes for issues that pertaining to Wi-Fi, system stability, memory drain in user interface, gesture navigation and missing heads-up notification in Pixel smartphones which includes Pixel, Pixel XL, Pixel 2, Pixel 2 XL, Pixel 3, Pixel 3 XL, Pixel 3a and Pixel 3a XL. For Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL smartphones, the October security patch fixes issues pertaining to missing notifications in standby mode and sensor calibration improvements.
