College football’s transfer portal frenzy: Key names to watch from Monday’s wave of postseason entries

National Portal Day isn’t actually a real thing. Now that the regular season is over, college football players across the country are starting to make up their minds about whether they’re planning to stay or move on this offseason. He’s one of the most talented playmakers Georgia Tech has had in a long time, and that became evident immediately during a debut season that earned second-team Freshman All-America honors from The Athletic. Now-former Notre Dame coach Brian Kelly told reporters he thought Gibbs should be the ACC Player of the Year, and Georgia’s Kirby Smart offered serious praise as well last week. He didn’t get the ball much over the final month of the season, likely due in part to two fumbles, and received just 18 total carries over his last four games.
