Wooden Satellite Takes Flight, Offers Potential for Satellite Return Solutions

India Today

The world's first wooden satellite has successfully launched into space on a SpaceX rocket. The satellite, named LignoSat, is a box-like experiment designed to burn up upon re-entry into the atmosphere, potentially providing a method to avoid generating metal particles. The satellite was launched from Nasa's Kennedy Space Center in Florida and will arrive at the International Space Station soon for testing.
