Dutch economy will contract in Q4, EU Commission says

The commission said the Dutch economy is set to stagnate in the third quarter and to contract modestly in the fourth. Read the forecast ‘The shocks unleashed by Russia’s war of aggression against Ukraine are denting global demand and reinforcing global inflationary pressures,’ the commission said. ‘The EU is among the most exposed advanced economies, due to its geographical proximity to the war and heavy reliance on gas imports from Russia.’ The commission estimates the EU economy will grow by 0.3% next year but that the Dutch figure will be double that at 0.6%.
