
‘NAKSHA’ project for urban properties launched in Mysuru
The HinduNational Geospatial Knowledge-based Land Survey of Urban Habitations, a project that is conceptualised for creating geospatial records for properties in urban areas, was launched in Mysuru on Tuesday. NAKSHA has been undertaken by the Department of Land Resources, Ministry of Rural Development, in collaboration with the Departments of Revenue, Survey, Settlement and Land Records, and Municipal Administration. The role of the States in this national pilot programme is to conduct field surveys and ground truthing using the orthorectified imagery, leading to the final publication of urban and semi-urban land records, it stated. Land Records director, E. Prakash, said the project has been launched in 152 urban local bodies in the country, including 10 here in Karnataka.
